Deanne Cheuk

Deanne Cheuk has never let anyone publish a photo of her desk before but we were lucky enough to catch her late at night when she wasn’t “thinking straight”. Originally from Perth, Deanne has been living in New York for the past seven years where she has continued to establish herself as an artist, art/director and illustrator working with such titles as Tokion magazine, publishing her own magazine NeoMu and exhibiting her artwork around the world. Deanne told us that she didn’t change a thing before sending these images and that she is also suspect of how clean the other designers desktops are.

Adam Cruickshank - Regular Product

The first desktop photo that Adam Cruickshank sent through is significantly different to the one you see below. However, we have included it after the jump as it provides such an excellent insight into the cut and paste of technology and the cut and paste of craft. His designs, like his desk, have a certain quality that makes your eyes light up, with potential to inspire unleashing the toothpaste and expressing yourself by whatever means necessary. With a long list of work under Regular Product (which has been featured in publications like Arkitip, Faesthetic, Co-Op, Beautiful/Decay), designing some awesome tees for 2×4, as well as being one half of Sleep Club, it’s actually a surprise that Adam’s (other) desk isn’t a hell of lot messier.

Tin from Tin & Ed

Tin & Ed possess an almost superhuman ability to avoid stressful situations. Whether folding origami bats for a Young & Restless film-clip, or sipping coffee somewhere near their Nicholas Building studio, they are probably the closest thing that Melbourne has to Zen masters. Having recently joined the film-clip collective Moop Jaw, and with a folio that includes work for Crumpler (see interactive alphabet) and Next Wave Festival, their multi-disciplinary talents and their anti-disciplinary attitude seem a perfect combination for productivity. A view like this doesn’t hurt either.
