Our Posterwall is currently under construction so over the next few weeks we will only be posting the details of a select few gigs. This Friday 6th July don’t miss Fabulous Diamonds 7″ at The Toff. Supported by Kes and Sydney’s Bad Tables this show is not to be missed.
We’re not going to write too much about an exhibition that’s not showing yet but make sure you save the date for ‘Which Way To Go’ from artist (and lead singer of Eddy Current) Brendan Huntley. Click the flyer below for more details.
It’s the long weekend so check out what’s on at our Posterwall. Our posters of the week go to D.A.R. and Gaybash for both making our feel sea-sick. That’s it.
In an article with CR, DAVID SHRIGLEY states, “I want to go to these strange places and surprise myself with my drawings… that’s the whole aim of my day.” However, David Shrigley’s work is far from just a personal joke. Alongside his drawings, his books constantly sell out and he works across mediums such as animation and spoken word even releasing an album as part of the ‘Late Night Tales’ series and having a track featured on Nouvelle Vague’s own ‘Late Night Tales’ compilation.
In his first major solo exhibition in Australia beginning this Friday, Shrigley is bringing over 292 works including the entire ‘Poster Project’ and a film he co-directed with Chris Shepherd titled ‘Who I Am And What I Want’. Exhibiting at Kings ARI it runs until May 12.
